The Big Timber Community Garden is located at the corner of Walnut Street and Fifth Avenue. Currently there are 35 individual plots ranging in size from 10'x12' to 20'x24'. There are also 7 small plots for children, 2 raised beds 4'x6'x2,' and 2 raised beds 4'x10'x1'. Each gardener is responsible for his or her own plot. See Garden Courtesy Guidelines.
The privilege of having a garden plot is open to any resident of Big Timber and Sweet Grass County free of charge. There are hose bibs conveniently spaced throughout the garden and hoses are provided.
A garden shed is located within the Garden where communal tools are stored. Greeting gardeners and guests at the main gate is a two sided covered bulletin board where pertinent notices are posted.
And for the weary gardener there is a park bench to rest and enjoy the serenity of the Garden.
There are plum and pear trees; raspberry, red current, and serviceberry bushes; asparagus; and grape vines planted throughout the garden for the gardeners to harvest and enjoy.
Many gardeners share their extra produce with Big Timber's Senior Center, Food Bank, and Senior Pantry.
